However, since I started keeping bettas in divided tanks I've had no end of problems. One betta gets sick, so I treat or move to hospital tank and do what I need to to get him better. Then he dies, and his tank mates get sick. I've had such a high attrition rate on my boys - never managed ... I attached it to a bottle then it created a 1 second vaccum effect but it doesnt work that well.

I have always heard externals are much better for a tank but why is that? I currently have for my 160 litre is a 42 US gallon is 3plus (700lph) and 4 plus (1000lph) giving a 10x turnover. Apparently the colours are very bright but as they were put in a trap for photoing they got stressed and lost some colour. Didnt matter to me, looked like the dalmation gene was there, and they were HM line too, so excellent! I thought it would be a nice change to my VT girls I have. You can buy three within one postage so I bought two red girls and a blue. ...
