Tank currently has 2 Java ferns (I think) and 2 moss balls. Heater at 30 degrees C and a simple spray bar filter. 20L tank, 17ml of Tetra Safestart added. Here are the readings after approx. 1 hour from my Nutrafin kit: pH: 7.75 Ammonia: 1.2 Nitrites: 0.1 Nitrates: 7 3 small hardy fish will be added tomorrow, as per directions (probably cloud minnows). I had him in a tank that was quite high. Now he seems to struggle to swim to the surface in it. So after some juggling about he is now in a longer tank with water about 6 inches deep and a heater and seems happier. It could just be the size of his fins that is causing him trouble.
