I went to a new lfs (that I hadn't been to before) and they have such a beautiful range of fish in there. I got talking to the guy there, and told him of my current fishless cycling tank of 17L, intended for a male fighter in the next few weeks. I ended up coming out with 2 more plants (had 5 already) and a pair of platties (not sure which type, they are black on the top, and yellow underneath)

They're currently resting on the top of the water and acclimatizing. I also bought a ...

Dont understand why she died though Told my daughter she can get another female at the weekend it kinda cheered her up but not a lot.

When my mollies have babies and they are old enough to find out what sex they are...why is it that they are always female?

Iv only ever had 1 baby male but when he was in the nursery tank he was a non surviver...all the females have survived!

Does anyone know why im just getting female babies and no males??? Its quite frustrating!

Or is it just a fact of life

I recently got some guppies, two females and one male, it has been suggested that the females may already be pregnant. I keep finding conflicting information some say the female always have the gravid spot and this is normal and other sites state it is an indication on how pregnant they are?

Here are some poor piccys!

Oh and for funsies my pretty male

Long story short we have a new 85L tank which we are planning to stock with 6 female guppies, 5-6 corys and some female Bettas (any advice on stocking will be greatly appreciated!). Having filled the filter with old filter media and testing it for a few days (everything working fine, stats at 0) we added 2 female guppies on Thursday night. One looked very pregnant but apparently I underestimated just how far gone she was. I got home from work on Friday to find 19 babies!!!
