Ok so some of you may know that I do not have a heater for my betas yet and will get one when I get the money to upgrade...

But right now my main concern is the cold of night making them TOO cold. Their homes are small enough to fluctuate temperatures rather easily and with the heater in the house out of order till my stepdad heals enough to fix it. So question is....how do I keep them warm??

I thought about letting their rocks warm up gradually in the sun while it's still light out then ...

I have discovered that I LOVE betta's So I want to start saving up for supplies for my forty gallon since I know it will take time. But first I need to know if my idea will even work and how to go about doing it. First of all will ten girls in a well filtered and heavily planted tank work ? Four gallons per fish isn't so bad really... Io could bring it down to 8 if more space is needed. Also you have to add all the girls at once but you shouldn't add more than three fish per week... So how ...

Only downsides I could see would be no lid, but could order a piece of plexi-glass for that and of course add an heater

Okay, I have an issue. Sort of. I want to make a spray bar for my barracks as I"m tired of using bubblers to move the surface of the far side of the tank so it doesn't get that icky scum on it. The tank has 4 sections that I've made myself with good ol' plastic canvas. I have a Tetra Whisper power filter on the tank and it sucks out of one section and blows back into the next one. However, the output is WAY too fast for my bettas. I thought about doing the plastic bottle trick, but I'd have ...

I love Vallis in the aquarium, because you can make some really nice flowing plant scenes and they move really nicely in the water. The problem is I can't get the vallis I have in my aquarium to stay alive particularly long, mainly because of the poor design of my tank (the filter and light are in the hood, and they are so close together that the back half of the tank can't be reached by much light). This means that the strongest light is at the front of the tank and an aquarium IMO is always ...

I've ordered a new 65l tank which will need to be cycled once I receive it. I've done my research regarding the nitrogen cycle, and I've learned that the quickest and most reliable way to cycle a new aquarium is to provide it with used filter media or other objects that harbor the beneficial bacteria. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone else who owns an aquarium and was wondering what the possibilites would be for someone on the forums to be able to help me out? I'm not sure how ...

A friend gave me a bare 5.5 USgl. tank the other day. After much insistence on there part I accepted it just to shut them up! By the time I buy a hood, heater, and filter I could almost setup a 10gl(UK or US) with a slight increase in cost! Both heaters and filters please.

I would appreciate some input as to the brands anyone prefers over others. Which ones to avoid etc..

When a filters top rating is is at your tank size is it really adequate or should one jump up a level. My uninformed ...

Hi all.

We divided up some of our glass tanks today. Eventually we want to get one large tank and divide it up and use it with a large external filter, but for now this'll have to do! The tank on the right needs a few more decos, it's looking a little sparse at the mo, and I'm still using a critter container for one of my delta's, so I will be busy next week sorting him out :-)

Hi guys.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a shop that sells cheap plastic containers that I could use as a temporary home for bettas? I'm thinking plastic hex tanks or those plastic small vivarium thingies. I have bought 4 beautiful new bettas from a brilliant lfs that's near me, and they over-ordered their bettas and have 80+ they need to shift ASAP. I reserved my 4 today but I have to go and pick them up on Saturday. I'm working towards a divided tank to keep them all in, but for ...

Washing with milton baby bleach hopefully that'll shift it forever!! (well maybe not forever, lol!) but longer than a day!

Bought some blue gravel to go in there on top of the light blue & clear pebbles...new start

That is what I would love to achieve. I am thinking of either a 21 litre plastic aquarium, I love the curved corners and can't really find one bigger within a decent prince rage. Or go for the Aqua Seal 16 x 10 x 10 , it's bigger but not as "flowing". Does anyone know of bigger curved corner tanks within a good price range?

I would really like to try and keep big filters out of the way ...

As the title says want to fill up my sorority tank some more, and I wanted some of those fake lily-like things for the front and round the bases of the taller silks.

I know plastic can rip male betta fins but seeng as females have short fins, would it be ok?

Ha, full of questions today
