Hi!

I was wondering if my aquarium was big enough for my male Betta fish, with the "gallon calculator" (or something like that) that i found on this site, it turns out that my tank is a 1.58 gallon tank,

however, i heard that my fish needs a 5 gallon tank... (which i believe will be too big for my room, and my parents were against the idea of me buying a fish, so i won't have too much of their support either...).

Here are some pictures of my tank:

Ok now today I came across all these used plants for a good deal at a garage sale, but I'm starting to think that I didn't think thoroughly enough. I wanted plants they could easily hide in or make bubble nests under and such like that but I don't want to choke them out of swimming space either. I need to learn to balance.

So Alpha got a 2.5 gallon tank yesterday and I've put only a few things I got (including a thermometer) in his tank, but the purple thing I like so much is more out of the ...

There's no leaks or anything and firstly i thought it was the heat from the lights but the lights had been off all week so not that!
Went shopping this afternoon for a tank, wasnt quite sure what i was looking for just wanted a tank with a stand/cabinet as im running out of places to put tanks (4 already) so went to my MH aquatics to see what they had. Saw lots that i liked but where far too big and expensive, but did see 2 that i liked straight away, both made by Fluval but one was a 90 litre and the other 120 litre...only had £200 to spend! The 90 litre was £170 and the 120 litre was £200...what do i do!!! Gary was ...

Today i finally stripped my 100 litre tank and then had to clean 6 bags of gravel my fingers are killing me.

The sand was easy to get out thanks to silverrabbit giving me advise...i used the pan of a dust pan and brush to scoop it out it looked like Southport beach when we used to go when we where kids!!! Normal coloured sand on top and black sand underneath that was very smelly!

Cleaned with warm water and a bit of milton baby bleach like Kelly advised me too. I cant believe how ...

I started to poke around for filters last night and came across this manufacturer called Aquaripure. Maybe you are already familiar with their product I don't know. But I thought I'd pass it on anyway for others that weren't

aware of this unit. I probably should claim a disclaimer as I don't if it works or not. I did like what I read and hope its feasible and valid. Anyone with a fair knowledge of filtration should look it over and give an opinion!

Hey everyone.

Went to the local fish shop. Bad idea as always. A 4ft (200+L) tank plus stand, for $AU699 not$AU999, $AU300 saving. Luckly mum was there coz she said Layby it. Thanks mum! Only me and mum now that I have got.

I'm thinking about putting it into my room for my betta sorority?! As I have another 200+L that I wont to be a comm. tank. Dont sure what I'm going to put into the comm. tho. LOL. Ideas would be good. Wont be done for a few months, End of yr maybe, LOL, have to get ...

I always seem to get itchy feet. Always looking to improve tanks and stocking and as discover different fish, move different species as some just dont suit me (hope this doesnt sound too harsh). I started fish keeping with dwarf puffers (basically I am a huge porcupine puffer fan) and one day walked into my first LFS and found you could keep puffers as pets! So started with puffers, went through horrendous upset with one of the dwarfs dying. Moved onto GSPs these were great little guys but being ...

Having a small thought how would this sound for a 17/18g tank with plenty of filtration:
6 bronze cory
6 black schultzei
10 gold lasers
6 caudimaculatus
Aqadvisor says with the filters I would be adding filtration would be 137%
Stocking 124%

Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

I'm hoping this is in the right spot. Sorry, if it isn't!

So in my 9g I have (or had!) 5 rummy nose tetras, 5 corydoras catfish and Smurf the betta. They've been together for ages now & no problems.

The rummy nose have always tended to stay in the mid to bottom area of the tank.

Last night I cleaned the tank (as per normal) and rearranged the plants a little, bit of variety so to speak. Anyway, I woke up this morning and looked in on them. The rummy nose were flying all ...
