New spawning tank pics - NEW SPAWN

Post by pippoodle on Sun Aug 09, 2009 12:04 am

pics (taken with crappy camera though) of my new spawning tank (still a tad cloudy due to sand- used old sand rinsed well)- have transferred over from an old one without a lid or light - was just conditioning them in there - has a mature elite mini filter in (have a cycled 1 plus in another tank for after fishies have grown a little)
For Prince Cody and Melba (named by Daz - thanks hun adore ) spawn - STILL conditioning for a few more days - Melba has large tummy but not full enough with eggs yet

thanks hun - let Melba out for her 10 min wander in the tank tonight and Prince started frantically building his nest bigger and bigger lol
bless him - she's back in breeding trap again now with him tarting at her lol
his nest is amazing now

I let the female out for 10 mins a night for 3 nights before the actual release and with the last 2 spawns when i let them out the 4th time they just got straight to it - female swam with her nose down and went right under nest as soon as she was released - so then they got jiggy right away

yes hun was fine with my other 2 spawns in the other tank - babies are still in there so set this one up for these 2
the babies love the sand and eat lots off of it they dig in the sand and hide under the IA leaves
