buying 2 males tomorrow!

Hello, I'm going to the goldfish bowl in Oxford tomorrow, rated one of the top retailers in the country. I've hear that they stock very good bettas so I am hoping to bring back tw males to put in my 65l.

I was going to have an all female tank but the males are just so beautiful! Need to get a divider, hope the shop sells them, if not I'll only buy one male.

Ok, just got back, the shop was amazing, all the bettas were in tanks by themselves, they had about 40 different ones. Crowntails, halfmoons, giants, plakats, scissortails.
Anyway, I bought a blue crowntail with red fins, I was so close to buying a blue scissortail, but the crowntail just kept flaring at my finger.
I'll put some pics up soon, just acclimatising him, he is called Bruno.

If I bought two the other one would've been called Borat.

That isn't bad though hon for a good pedigree so to speak! I had a feeling it was on that theme lol :D Have you still divided the tank? Or have you left open for Bruno and divide when ready?

I've left the whole tank open, he had a go at one of the cherry shrimps, but he gave up when he saw the khulis. He looks lost.

Sounds great! probably all his new space! he's probably just thinking jeez all this swimming space to myself! Im in awe! lol glad you got one! ( I know what you mean about the money though! makes sense to just stick to what you can afford everything mounts up, food, dividers etc

oh he sounds lovely. I managed to get a new tank this morning from a car boot just need a heater though now! must look on line

Wow how do you guys find these bargains at car boots? It may be helpful if I went to some, but never know where they are! LOl. Ebay for heater? Hope Bruno is settling in!

Yep he's settling in, I bought some hikari betta pellets, I've fed him 2. He seems to be resting on the floor alot, any ideas on why?

Some just do..is he panting at all? He may just have had a hectic day. Still coming to the top to breath etc?
