Re: Bubblenest
Peas are a good food to help with constipation, but they don't really provide nutrition. Also you need to cut them into smaller pieces, a whole half a pea is a choking hazard. If you use peas, do so very sparingly. Some people use it once a week, but I prefer not to use them unless a fish shows visible signs of constipation. Also, a mirror for flaring is a good source of stimulation in small doses (10-15 min a day). If you leave it in his vicinity constantly, he may become stressed out or possibly overdo it and rip his caudal, or he could be desensitized to his own appearance and no longer flare at it. As for bubblenesting, it may take some time, but the simplest base for a bubblenest is to cut off a bit of a styrofoam cup so he has a nice floating arch to build under. Good luck with your fish!

Re: Bubblenest
my bettas wont bubble under a cup only bubblewrap - just wash it and cut a square and float in the tank- most of my boys dont need it but i put it in the tanks with the boys who show no interest
I feed a pea once a week to all my bettas - wild and splendens then they have a fast day the next day

Yea, I chopped the pea into tiny pieces so they could fit in his mouth, he doesn't seem to flare at the mirror so I might buy a bigger one as this one doesn't go flat across the glass.
I love your signature etcetera.

Re: Bubblenest
a couple of my boys wont flare at mirrors but put them in front of another male and they will flare. They are clever they know it is their reflection. Yours is probably of the cleverer class and thinks silly human I know its me!
ps just noticed my new red one has a line of bubbles all round the top of his tank! obviously he doesnt realise they need to be in a lump!

yea, I'll try and lower the price though, if I can't lower it I don't think I'll have him as I can get halfmoons and crowntails from the same shop I got Bruno for £15.

He's beautiful but the seller seems a bit dodgy.

No no! Check that with Netty and the likes, I beleive that is for the postage though not sure if that includes materials. When I got my white CT it was...8/9 for basic and £2 for a saturday delivery.
