Help identifying shrimp?

This topic is on my husbands behalf as he is not a member of any fish forums and he's no good at typing or uploading pics lol. He has been keeping shrimp for ages and has hundreds, mainly cherries but also has some brown ones and a couple of blue/black ones. However just recently in another tank which had a few in it, we have noticed these:

They are really strange as although they look pink in the pics they're more white in real life with bright yellow saddles. They are not snowball shrimp as we've never had them. My husband has been searching google all night and can't find anything like.

So as i've told him what a clever bunch you are he wondered if anyone could identify them?

normal cherry shrimp hun - a lot arent bright red as some wilds get mixed in from some breeders and also the more inbred the shrimp are the less colourful ones you get -

some breeders just sell off the pale ones and keep the brighter coloured ones for themselves

Male cherrys are brighter red than females anyway so the ones with saddles would be lighter - a lot are nearlly clear

Well they all started from the ones we bought from you off another forum. Also with our cherries i assume the females carry the eggs, because the ones with eggs are always brighter red than the others?

if they're from the ones you got hun then they have been breeding on - have you removed any of the lighter ones ? or just left them all to it ?

what are you feeding them - food can also have an effect on colouration ?

the females are the ones with the saddles

i find that tetra prima is a good food for bringing out the deep cherry colours, basically anything with a high carotene content is best.

otherwise, as pip said they can get quite pale

We feed them crab and pleco pellets, cucumber then the same as the fish get which is either hikari micropellets or novagranular and bloodworm. The light/white ones are only in one tank, the main tank has none like the ones in the photos

i feed the shrimp spirulina 3 times a week - that helps keep there colour strong- you can get it as a powder - which they will eat from the surface or pellets
