I'm calling him simply Thai and I can't believe how friendly he is. He takes his food out of my fingers! He dashes to the front of the tank when he sees me, swimming back and forth - really showing off. I think he'll enjoy having some tankmates when I get the first couple of corys in a couple of weeks time.

The plants need a bit of thinning out but I'm waiting to do that once he's more settled (although he's so laid back - I think I should call him Mr Cool!). I want to see which are his favourites so I don't hike out the wrong one and upset him.
Am I beginning to sound like an obsessive granny? :D

LOL He sounds a sweetie! Congrats on naming him, I love all that greenery though sounds a good idea to see what he becomes attached to. He is a pretty boy and Thai suits him xxx

Re: My Gorgeous Boy now has a name. (More Pics too)
Can anybody confirm that he's a Veil Tail please? I think he looks the same as Eros in Mellychops sig? It wasn't until I found this forum that I realised that there are lots of different tail types!

Aw, thank you! Yes, he's a real sweetheart and he certainly seems to love mooching around in the plants/tunnels. Oh goodness, here I go again - must not go overboard - he's a fish for heavens sake!

I guessed you'd understand!
betta246 (is that how many Bettas you have? LOL) I bought him from Maidenhead Aquatics, I think he was about £6.
Tropical girl - when you going to let us know what's in Tank 5?

Love the plants and he's such a good looking little man. Even with all these HMs, CTs, DTs, etc, I still adore VTs. Mine are such characters!
He'll be so happy with you.

My smartest bettas have all been VTs, lol. He has such a pretty home.
I know you said the "first couple of cories," but just to confirm, how many do you intend to get? They're a schooling species, so I'm hoping you plan to eventually work up to a good number of them. They're so much happier and more entertaining in groups.

As regards the cories, I'm planning on getting as many as I can but starting with two/three I feel I'm less likely to cause water/filter problems. I thought I'd add a couple each week until I've got the maximum. I've only got a 28l tank so I don't think I'll be able to have more than about six of the hastatus (the tiniest I think?).
I'm more than happy to take any advice so if there is a better way of introducing the cories I'd be delighted if I could put them all in at once! Do you think half a dozen is about right?
