That is great news on the PH Van, glad you can go for the bogwood after all as you can get some nice large fantastic pieces for the lushness Wink

Update -

3rd dose of stability added

Test results -

Ammonia = 0
NitrIte = 0
NitrAte = 0

Tested the tap water and the NitrAte is zero too. Never had zero NitrAte tap water before?

Still getting zero for everything? So, either my tests kits are out or the stability is bad?

On the plus side, I have some very small plant shoots coming out from the substrate quite randomly:)

Had water stats checked at lfs and all showing the same as mine. I have added a filter bag with some cubes of frozen Arteria shrimp to add some load. Will check later to see what happens.

This is what happened to me for a while with this stuff and I think 2-3 weeks in was only parially cycled from adding nothing but the stability. In the end had to do partial fish cycle with added aquastart

I have a slight Ammonia spike now - 0.5ppm. Will test again later to see if it goes up or down.

Test results from just a minute ago -

Ammonia = 0
NitrIte = 0.25/0.5
NitrAte = 0

So I have some bacteria in the filter converting the Ammonia into NitrIte.
I took the cubes out as they were going furry. All i have added since is Stability every other day, plant food & a few granules of Discus bits (food).

So it took 10 days to get an ammonia reading and a further 3 days to get a nitrIte reading. Will test again for nitrIte soon to see how quickly it goes.

All tests are now clear [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] (have been for a couple of days)
Ammonia 0, NitrIte 0, NitrAte 5ppm.

Rang one of the local shops, and amazingly they still had some of the Pearl Danios left that I'd seen a couple of weeks ago. 6 for £6 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
However, they were sharing the tank with some Rainbows of some sort. When we got them bagged it turned out that 1 of the 6 was a Rainbowfish. So the guy said just call it a fiver [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . Its very very similar to the Danios and appears to be happy shoaling with them. Will try and identify it and get a few more friends for it.
