Stroking The Fish?
Last night I had my hand in the girls tank because i was sorting out the floating plants and suddenly quite alot of the girls appeared and started coming to the top through the frogbit and floating elodea. I wiggled my finger in one place and a few girls came under my finger nad put there body in the way so i was gently stroking them, and one of them (Violet) Continuosuly came back to have a stroke and kept moving her body around to be stroked, its like they enjoyed it after few minutes a few of them wanted a stroke and they really enjoyed just chilling in the floating plants while being stroked. I know your not supposed to stroke fish because its stressful for them and they have a protective slime coat but its not like i was rubbing my hands all voer them, just a little stroke on top and they came of their own accord.
Is this alright to do somtimes? Also i was thinking it may make the fish tame and used to human contact and not be afraid? :D

Hi
Its probably not a good idea to stroke the fish. You may damage the slime coat on them with the oils from your skin.

My girls like a stroke so I have to be careful what I do when my hands are in the tank. Aurora loves to wiggle under my fingers, silly girl!
