Tank is running! (pics included)

Post by lilacamy931 on Sat Oct 17, 2009 5:31 pm

The 160 litre is finally running with good amount of stock as follows:
8 Norman Lamp Eyes
4 Peacock Gobies
2 Pearl Gouramis
5 Male Guppies
6 Glass Catfish
1 Black Lace Angelfish
Here is the tank planted up (thanks Daz!!!!) they are perfect and just need them to grow in.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My partners favourite fish is angelfish and couldnt resist this chihuahua of a fellow
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
One of our pearl gouramis and angelfish both coloured up great
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here is a glimpse of one of our peacock gobies, there was one daddy of all and three ickle ones, this is the large one
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Was worried about the glass catfish but since the plants went in and there are 6 they seem much much better!
Planning on some sort of cories, perhaps an apisto pair and a shoal of tetras (but lets not get ahead of ourselves thumbup )

Yeah we thought as much, so will probably rehouse the guppies to my sisters tank. Hers is bigger than mine and she recently lost the males (they had white spot problem or somesuch), they think it is cleared but when Im certain it has will probably move the gups.

Thanks very much again for help on stocking Smile What do you (anyone Wink) reckon I am with stocking levels? We wont be adding more as the latest batch gone on but we are unsure how much we can actually have (and we dont want to overstock badly)

once the guppys have gone i think if you got something that is a bottom dweller that would be about the max so a trio of apisto or a pair of bns or 8 corys
how many lph is the fillter?

your tank looks great lilacamy
you have done a great job there
think you are probably to your limit
but would be better if knew how big tank was
but looks fine to me,
i never had any problems with my angel and my guppies
it was gourami`s she picked on so maybe you will be fine there too,
sometimes i think its luck of the draw some are ok some are not
so hope you are as that looks great [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

:Embarassed: Oops lol Wink We will keep an eye on for certain! Thanks peeps for all the support xx

What I would ask was would another smaller internal be beneficial to the residents I have now to help with water surface agitation?

You could try a homemade sponge filter or even a power head.

I havent bought one yet but would have a choice of any of the fluval plus'
If I wanted to be really over the top could go for another 4 plus but this may be a bit cumbersome in the tank and powerful?

Right so looking at the stats a 3 plus at 700 litres should do the job. Would this be just for my present stocking and better for them?

Ah brill, will invest and start seeding/running fairly soon then, proably have it running opposite end of tank to keep nice even distribution. Thanks for the low down Smile
