Not talking about betta tanks but more of other species and communities, interested to hear what you do with your tanks thumbup

Do you over filtrate, run two at once? Thanks for any input

On my new tank which is 180 Ltrs, the filter is an AquaOne Aquis 1200 giving 750 L/PH turnover. So its turning the whole volume of the tank over just over 4 times an hour.

Thanks guys, appreciate to get an average lol. We are aiming for a large turnover on our community.

We currently have 1000lph but want to up this to ensure can cope with stocking levels and any nasties..so currently have 6 turnovers in an hour

It depends on what you're stocking too:) 10 Messy fish that produce high amounts of waste will need a higher turnover than 10 fish that produce less waste.
The other thing that needs consideration isn't purely the turnover (LPH) but the size of the cannister. A filter with say 500LPH and an 8 Ltr cannister, may not be as efficient as a filter with 400LPH and a 12 Ltr cannister. This is because the 12 Ltr filter can hold more media, therefore hold larger amounts of beneficial bacteria.
