New 70litre set up
Thought I would start a little log of my new set up. This tank used to be one of our spawning tanks but was never really keen on using it for spawning so now has a new purpose. It's a Jewel Rekord 70.
This was it earlier today and then another with the background attached. The two mini filters we had lying around so Van has wired them together. Substrate is black sand.
This will be home to the Golden Rams I plan to get and will shortly be pinching some of Van's plants

It's amazing how much difference just having the background on makes! Can't wait to see the progress and the gorgeous little rams when you get them!

Thanks guys....it does look awful without the background and there was enough left over to do the little divided tank next to it too.
I think I'll be allowed some plants tomorrow if I grovel enough

Re: New 70litre set up
looks great - right substrate too as Rams love to dig in it
mine spend all day digging in the sand
have you got the slate for them - mine lay eggs either on the slate or in a hole they have dug under bogwood
what i do with mine
to get mine to breed i have lots of plants - increase temp from 29-30 to 32 degrees and then add lots of live foods feeding twice a day - you might want to add an apple snail to the tank while they are conditioning to munch up any food left during this time - then when they start to dig a hole or clean off the slate remove the snail again and go back to once a day feeding

Re: New 70litre set up
Thanks Aly. The brighter green plant just behind the stone is actually one of those floating plants from my other tank. Thought I would plant it and see how it does in there [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
