Pygmy Cories!
Well I loved my cories so much, I have set up a small tank to attempt to breed my new additions, pygmy cories, got and introduced them today, they are unbelievably cute and tiny!

Re: Pygmy Cories!
We've bred these before and some tips i can give you is to make sure the tank is well planted and there are lots of caves . They should spawn in a few months . Sarahs took 11 months before they spawned and the eggs are so much smaller than other cory eggs you dont really notice them .
We feed them live blood worms ,brineshrimp and daphnia and also frozen quintet once a day with algae/spirulina wafer, pellets or dust in the evening .
It's best to remove the adults as soon as they have spawned and get lots of water movement over the eggs . Don't worry about the eggs getting blown around the tank they still hatch and if you increase the temperature to 26 degrees after spawning they hatch within 36 hours . The adults will eat the eggs and also the small newborn fry .

Good luck with them Amy...I've always been tempted by these so you'll have to let me know how you get on with them [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Pygmy Cories!
Well they have settled in really well and act slightly different from the larger cories, I have silk plants in there and you find them perched amongst the leaves higher up the tank, really cute! Sure will Netty! Going to condition them and settle and then hopefully get babies!

They spend hardly any time on the floor of the tank our are always swimming around in shoals really nice to watch . We have some in the shrimp tank and in the corner tank with the large wild bettas . I'll try and get some pictures .
