The cupboard is looking a bit bare:)

Post by Vandraco aka Bronzecat on Sat Nov 28, 2009 1:37 pm

Hi

We have a built in cupboard/larder and thats where we have the spawning tanks and keep the juveniles in their baby tanks. 3-4 months ago it was stuffed full of around 50 baby tanks......loads of water changes.....but now there are only 3 in their little tanks. These are ones that never really looked right or didn't grow like the others. At least there isn't the hour and a half of water changes every day:)

Guess we'll have to have a new spawn then......although think it best to wait till after Christmas.

We'll keep on looking after the little ones as best we can and just keep our fingers crossed that they get bigger and stronger eventually. It's not looking too promising for one of the little ones who is male. He's the most gorgeous lavendar colour but really struggles with his food.

Awww, does he have jaw problems then? What does he eat, crushed pellets? Fingers crossed that they all get growth spurts soon xD

Nope he doesnt seems to take any dried food at all. The only thing he will eat sometimes is live bloodworm but not always. I think he struggles to get the food in his mouth although there is nothing visible.

Awww, high maintenence baby Very Happy shame he'll only eat bloodworm, what about other live food like daphnia or brine shrimp?

Nope he wont touch anything like that not even frozen bloodworm. I have to pick out the smallest live bloodworm for him cos the normal size are too big.

Thanks Newfishy. I had a feeling he wouldn't make it but just didn't want to give up on him.

Aww, I'm sorry, he was a gorgeous little guy, and sounded like a right character. I'm sure he'll be missed.

Thanks Rezz.....he will be missed especially after having so much extra care for the last few months. Still have his sister so fingers crossed she'll make it.

Thanks guys.....it is strange to have a near empty cupboard but not missing the water changes and 3 rounds of daily feeding on so many babies. lol
