divided tank filtration

Post by flip on Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:56 pm

i have my 10 gal. tank that i am going to divied in half. i have a hob filter. i cant attach a spray bar because it is the waterfall type, but i saw somewhere that you can attach a piece of hose to the intake and thread it to the side of the divider without the filter to make sure you get good flow on that side as well. is that something i should do or would i be ok in the 10 gal?

Hmmm that is a tricky one! With an internal on my 3 divided I definately have tubing to the otherside. With a waterfall on a 2 divided Im really not sure..

Come on you experts lol

Never used a Hob, but i think you are talking about attatching a tube to the intake of the filter. This should work fine as the water will be naturally drawn from one side to the other Very Happy

You can put the HOB next to the divder, so the new water hopefully will get through. Very Happy

It'll be fine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] If you just use a tube instead of the inlet or add the tube to the inlet and go straight across.

If that inlet tube is detatchable, then use a tube from the filter and attatch that inlet bit with the holes in to the other end.
