Hi from OHIO!

Hello, my name is Jake. I just recently got another betta so I decided to look for a betta forum. I am not new to bettas, but I know that there is always more to learn about theses wonderful fish! A little background on me, I attend High school here in Ohio, I am a sophomore. I have 3 birds (A cockatiel, A budgie, and an African Grey). They are all my birds, I bought them and pay for their care, but the African Grey is strongly bonded to my mom. I also have a pekingese. She is my moms dog. I already have my life entirely planned out, although I am not naive enough to think it will all work out exactly as planned. I plan to go to the local community college for a pre-vet degree and if that does not work out I plan to be some kind of biologist, marine or the like. More about my fish, I have a 10 gallon tank set up with a beautiful Cambodian male betta. He is duo toned with Blues and Purples. He shares a tank with around 6 platy's. I just got my entire tank setup with fish and all a few days ago so I am still checking frequently on the tank to make sure that the platy's and betta get along. They were added at the same time so neither of them see the tank as "theirs". I do have a back up plan in case it does not work out. I have another tank setup right now, however it is only temporary because it is my Red Eared sliders tank that is getting a bit too small for him. The large rubbermaid that he was in cracked so I have to get a new one. A bigger one this time. Well, sorry for the long introduction. I look forward to getting to know all of you and your fishy friends. :D

Thank you. I know I will. Its a great community you guys have here. I run my own bird forum and belong to several forums for all of my pets and I'm impressed with the size and activity that I have experienced so far. Hope my forum grows to be this big some day. :D
