would this be ok?

Post by flip on Thu Jan 14, 2010 2:02 pm

so the new year hasnt been as kind as i had hoped money wise, so im trying to go this a bit cheaper than planned. i read about this on a snail forum and thought it might be a good idea! could i use a coffee cup as a cave? i thought i could use some silicone and aquarium rock that i have already to make it look a bit more natural. but do you think it would be safe for the fish? i read that if it is for us to use with our food then it has to be safe for the fish but just wanted to get some opinions before i do anything!

If you want it to look a little more natural you can silicone and cover with gravel so it looks less like a cup. Just make sure it's all completely dry before you put it in the tank [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

There are lots of things you could use instead of gravel. You could take apart some silk plants and cover a cup with those too to camouflage it Very Happy
