Salamander bettas?

Post by aly_starh on Thu Jan 21, 2010 2:00 pm

Are Salamander bettas rare in the UK? Or is it just people dont breed them much?

I like the look of the Plakat ones not the Halfmoons. thumbup

The only person I know of that have bred that colour in the UK is Incognito. I think they had some last year. They are not that commonly seen here though.

Yea I think you're right on that Van.
Though to be honest I usually just call them butterfly as salamander is a bit hard to define.

I've still got a male one but no female ..... i'm tempted to breed with a good solid white female to see what i get. Either i'll get some pinks, some even more defined white as the white is red based so should also be equivalent to an outcross and hopefully some straight red/white bf and maybe the salamander colour tints too.

If I ever get around to sorting them! lol
