Indian Almond/Blackwater Teabags?

Hi guys, I needed to restock indian almond leaves and happened to come across teabags, Ive purchased some as it tickled my fancy but have any of you used these before???

I've never used them, i normally use blackwater extract which i've found ok. Let us know what they're like as i've been umming and arring over buying some for ages!

Certainly will hon! Just must remember to put them away from my teabags as that could be a horrid accident!

ive made tea from crushed leaves before. I guess the only thing I would worry about is not just pouring a whole bunch of strongly brewed tea in a tank at once, might alter ph and be a little shocking to the fishy. other then that the tea leaves are pretty usefull.

I use them or the leaves pretty regular especially when spawning and every few weeks in general just as a perk up. The leaves can be a bit irregular in strength.. some will lightly tint the water within a few hours, others will make it dark within minutes. The teabags are good if you've only a few bettas and much more consistant between batches.

Here's a bit of an article of mine about them.

The leaves contain humic acids and tannins and are known to have anti-bacterial properties as well as anti-fungal properties.Fins and scales will grow stronger.Enhances the natural color of the Betta.Adds essential trace elements to the water.The
presence of Ketapang Extract in the water spurs nest-building activity
and allows the bubbles to hold together more firmly as well as
enhancing fertility of the eggs all the while promoting vibrant
coloration in the young fry.It colours the water via natural tannins, to create a similar water ambience as is found in the betta’s natural habitat.
How I use the teabags...The best way to use the tea bags is to brew one tea bag overnight in
200ml of boiled water. Bottle it and add a pinch of aquarium salt to
help act as a perservative. This will keep for atleast 3 weeks. (Without salt I recommend making it weekly and keep it in the fridge).
Using this 200ml brewed tea..
For general health … 2ml per litre is idealFor conditioning or spawning tank 5-6ml per litreFor fin damage after spawning I use atleast 6ml per litre.You can also just drop a bag into the tank and remove once the colour has darkened to your satisfaction then remove it.
