Aqua 40 or Aquastart 320?

Post by beckyhazel on Wed Feb 03, 2010 5:10 pm

Links added!

Aqua 40

Aquastart 320

Hello all

I haven't posted in a while as my last betta (Moby) died when I was on holiday a few months back now. I was really very sad, but now i'm thinking about getting a new betta, so i'm pretty excited about that!

I'm just looking at tanks and am deciding between an aqua 40 (25l) and an aquastart 320 (28l). There
doesn't seem to be a massive amount of difference between them, except
the aqua 40 has a panormic glass front (no seals), and the aquastart
320 is slightly bigger.

Any experiences or thoughts?

Thanks Smile

I got an aquastart 320 and am very pleased with it. I've had it set up for 2 years now and it still looks nice, no breaks or anything. Plus it has the T5 lighting which is good for plants.

That sounds brilliant Netty, thanks very much. I need help with the live plants as well, I seem to have very hit and miss luck with them!

Your welcome. I would just start off with some easy growing plants like java fern, cabomba and floating plants do well too like frogbit or duckweed.

They do like to hang out in the roots of the frogbit and looks very attractive Very Happy

Ah the frogbite does look really nice actually, i'll definitely try to get some of that. I think i've previously had cabomba (I remember it because of its name!) and I seem to remember that being pretty hardy. Can't wait to set the tank up now!

I have frogbitt in all my tanks - and it thrives in one of the tanks and dies in the other two!!

So Beckyhazel - have you decided now? As I was gonna say add pics of examples (as I dunno what they both are) before I could give an opinion.

I know of the aqua 40 mind - and know thats also a good tank

I am swaying a bit towards the aqua 40 to be honest, the panorma glass looks just that bit nicer I think! I will post some pics in a mo anyway, good idea Haych!

I have put some links to the tanks at the top of the post for those who are interested. I can get them both for the same price at another website (with worse pictures!) so that's not a problem!

Hopefully I will order a tank in the next few days so I will get posting set up pictures asap. Do you think you lot can hold out for a week or so..? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

They both have internal filters and similar lighting, so it comes down to which you like the look of Question Nothing between them really. Which one fits in with your home decor best Very Happy

me and the better half prefer the 320 - curved edges are a beggar to clean and distort the fish when looking through it
