Re: Some Questions
Well just slightly older than you
We feed ours 4 pellets twice a day. They get live bloodworm or brineshrimp once a week and one day a week nothing as a fast day.
Brineshrimp is very good for their digestion and some people will give a small piece of cooked and deshelled pea once a week which again is good for clearing out their system. That might help with his bloated belly.

Re: Some Questions
I wanted to say when I was told about the peas that I should either do the pea in a seperate bowl or change the water after 24 hrs due to the amonia
the pea can cause. I was using BettaMin Tropical Medley and bloodworms on alternating days and had just started the fasting day.

Re: Some Questions
the pea is no issue for ammonia if you take out any left overs after the betta is done eating. actualy in my 29 gallon(very well cycled) I never bothered to take the little bits of leftovers out and those were always eventualy eaten and the ammonia never spiked.

Re: Some Questions
I tend to feed Hikari bio gold pellets once a day, 3 pellets each. Started feeding a JBL betta food in the mornings, just a little bit as they sulk until pellet time on the eve lol They also get a bit of bloodworm once a week as a treat, and a no-feed day.
I can't seem to get the hang of the pea thing!

YAY I do a fast day for my boys as well :P
Re: Some Questions
this made me think today.."Do I give enough calories for my hunnies?" so I want to ask you guys..I feed my babies once a day and i feed them 3 pallets.
Once a week I give them frozen blood worms and
fast day once a week.Is it healthy enough? I just don't want my babies to be thin

Re: Some Questions
If your Betta is active and maintaining his weight then I would continue with how you're feeding. If you think he's starting to look abit thinner then give him another 3 in the evenings.

Re: Some Questions
One of my bettas is fed 3-4 pellets once a day. Anything more than that and he seemed too full.
The other betta is on 3 pellets in the morning and 4 at night. Seems to be working perfectly for him. Both get a fast day.
Both are on Attison's betta pellets and get live brine shrimp once a week and a few blood worms once a week as a wee treat.
