Re: Some Questions
yea the link does work for me but what should I focuse on..Well when I look at the poor betta my eyes look on the tail section and it looks thin is that how I could determine the betta is thin ??? and have you guys read the comments those people not even realise the poor baby is starving.Poor little guy
Re: Some Questions
To me he looks thin all the way from his head to his tail - like his face looks too big for his body in that pic. I think the body should be stockier than that

Re: Some Questions
Definately very very underweight and also has fin rot. Not sure if he was bought like that but if so hopefully his new owner will feed him up and keep his water clean.

Re: Some Questions
No Netty,The posts underneath the owner said that she's had him about a year, and she's clueless, thinks he has such 'graceful lines'
That poor boy has been that way probably most of his life.
How do people think that he looks beautiful is beyond me, he looks sad, hungry, and wilted.

Wow, once a week is shocking! My good LFS says Hikari pellets 2x daily... really lucky to have such a good shop

Re: Some Questions
That is probably what happened with the poor betta in the link, she probably got one that said feed once a week! How he lived a year I don't know.

Re: Some Questions
I think my fish seems to have a similar issue. my betta fry will (after they eat) have a round stomach and float around the tank it's only temporary though.

Re: Some Questions
I wouldn't feed them more than once a day, either 3-4 pellets or 2-3 flakes. For a treat you could give them 1-2 bloodworms a week. To help with digestion you could do one fasting day per week. But the bloating I wouldn't worry about too much as it goes away. I feed the five girls in my sorority tank a pinch of flakes(10-12 flakes) in the morning and a smaller amount at night(5-7 flakes), I don't have a fasting day yet because I got my girls on Saturday but I will have one as well as likely get some bloodworms soon. Good luck with your bettas!
