Can I tempt you further to the world of cories? Pic heavy!!
Well I had to show off all my beauties right? Here is a thread of them all and hope it will help to entice more to cories, they really are wonderful creatures (I think it is the sort of fish I would be in the fishworld!!)
Black schwartzi/schultzei/aeneus (I get confused)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I have a group of 6 juvis, they really are a astonishignly stirking colour especially against a stark substrate, very active little fellows
Panda Pups
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Started with 8 and now have 5 due to some poor selection. Really lovely markings and these little guys just tumble around teh playground and also will see midwater
Gold Peru Stripes "Lasers"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Have a group of 10 by accident (they sent more than I ordered!) these were juvis when I got them and hoping they have matured enough by summer to reproduce. Their stripes have become more striking with age
Caudimaculatus
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
My first cories where the love began with a group of 6. These are the shyest and one of the largest of my cories. Lovely speckled skin with a striking spot on the tail. These spawned the night I added them to the tank! My only success at rearing so far with a fry at 11 weeks old.
Pygameus (Pygmy)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
These have been a disaster for me had a shoal of 13 in two shoals and lost every single one of them over the weeks since January. Don't let it put you off though they are iddy biddy easy to look after and swim a lot of different levels of the tank. These bred every other day for a couple of weeks up to christmas until I moved them (dont mess with success). The fry were far too tiny for a beginner like myself to raise though did get to 6 weeks.
Habrosus

Have a lovely group of 5 these are very very active and interact with any fish of their size (even shoaling with lampeyes) Highly recommended and a attractive dappled skin. Seen tremors of a egg nature but if they are anything like the pygmies may not find the eggs
Bronze Cories (otherwise known as monster fish!)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
These may be common about, but they are gorgeous! I have never seen the full grown and it is astonishing the size they get, easily the biggest around when it comes to the females. Have only had one clutch of eggs from them but easily up to a 100.
Am I tempted by more? You bet, will I? No I have been lucky to treat myself to some beauties and also unusual ones. I also have good stocking to tank and filter ratio without comprimising water quality but do hope to breed all the species I have. There are many species out there I would love to try but only winning the lottery or time will tell on this (to include melini, adolfoi, green stripes, red stripes, etc)
Hope not waffled on too much and hope that gives some thought for you!

they're all wonderful. I have a very big soft spot for panda cories, they were the first ones I ever bought and I love them! Those black ones are amazing... I've seen similar ones in Wildwoods which I feel in love with, but they were pretty expensive (£16.95 or something each) and I've sworn off them since they ignored me telling them their puffers had gill maggots
shame really.I love seeing your pics, keep 'em coming

Re: Can I tempt you further to the world of cories? Pic heavy!!
Thanks again guys!
@flip - they can go on gravel as long as it is the finer or rounder stuff (my gold perus and caudimaculatus are on gravel) also as long as the larger ones, as the only problem with gravel is it can wear their barbels down and give them bacterial infections if not kept clean
@mellychops - you actually started this thinking back
how could you do that to me!! lol
@Irish_Lass - glad to help
cant wait to hear if you do get another cory tank!
@aly_starh - Yay! Cant wait for you to get some cories x
