So i've nuked my divided tank with meth blue

It's been almost 2 weeks now I think... maybe more as i've lost track of time lol. Do you think the meth blu will have been enough and done a successful job of killing off Velvet by now? I doubled the dose (the tank looks black, haha) and kept it dark but switched the heater off.

Obviously the tank will need rinsing thoroughly, but is there anything else I need to do? I'm not confident about bleaching tbh, but what about salt? Or will it be ok as is?

Anxious to set it up again but don't want anything to go wrong!

Yes it should have, particularly as the velvet parasites haven't had a fish to host on thumbup

I would have thought that if you nuked it with meth blue and its been fishless, a good rinse out will be fine thumbup

Sounds good to me! Meth blue kills most things in a high concentration (with no fish of course!) hehe

yeah the tank has had a pretty generous dosing LOL. The silk plants are now turquoise, haha, but didn't want to risk leaving anything catching on those so just left everything in and gave the gravel a good jiggle to stir any nasties up and into impending blue doom Twisted Evil

Thanks guys, I shall start rinsing this weekend.

One other thing... I left the home made sponge filters running throughout. I know the media will be dead but I have cloned media for that anyway. Just want to check that the actual food pots that hold the sponge and air stones are still ok to use?
