Oderus, Ivan, and Professor Chaos....

Post by Anabantid on Thu Apr 08, 2010 2:21 pm

This is my boyfriends tank and its inhabitants. He's done a great job! We are planning on getting a BIG tank. I can't wait. Just have to find one in the right price range.

The tank and Ivan the Terrible our Opaline Gourami, BTW they are NOT a goon community fish.

Professor Chaos, he's so cute, so far is the only one who can coexist with Ivan, yea for cichlids! Can any of you tell me exactly what kind he is?

I adore butterfly fish Love

I've always had pretty good luck with my gouramis, but i've not kept them with very small fish, just Severums and parrot fish and larger tetras or barbs. I loved watching mine spawn, the male was such a loverboy lol

the yellow cichlid looks like a yellow lab if not them its defently some type of old world cichlids which dont mix well with other fish there extreamly agressive and unless you ph is about 8 then they wont bo well in the tank. a pair of apistogramma or keyholes would work better.

We know about the high ph requirements. We got him because our gourami is incredibley aggressive. The are doing very well together.

i still wouldnt risj it if i were you. it wouldnt suprise me if one day you come down and the gourami is dead or injered. you would be best of with new world cichlids like apisto, keyholes evan firemouths or blue acara if the tanks 30g or over. what is the ph? how big is the tank?

Prof. Chaos looks like a definite Labidochromis caeruleus to me.
