New guy

Post by Taelin on Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:23 am

Okay, so I went to the LFS and found this little guy. I couldn't resist. I'm a little curious what he's going to turn out to be as his tail is damaged. (pardon the teeny little cup. Just got him home.)

Looks cute from what I can see and is a little red dragon by the looks of it.

Would need a better pic to check out the fins but hopefully they'll grow back in no time with lots of clean water and tlc Very Happy

Yep, nice Red Dragon there thumbup As Netty says, its a bit difficult to say what tail type from the picture but can safely say its not a VT.

Love Glad he's got a good home! Agree with Netty, lots of clean water, maybe some aquarium salt too?

You have no idea how many pictures I took to try to get that one. I know he's not a VT 'cause he was priced differently. But I'm not sure if the cleft in his tail is damage, or supposed to be there...and he's missing a piece off the bottom of his tail.

I would say that the tail looks damaged rather than being a dt.

The tail is definately damaged. I"m thinking he may be a delta. He's so shy, though. He's in the tank on the bookcase beside my computer and every time I move, he skitters to the back of his tank. Poor guy. But he does like to swim through the bubble wall.

I'm not sure. I'll have to see as his tail grows out. He had it when I bought him the other day. With the damage to his tail, I'm thinking it could be fin rot though.

Here's a better picture of him:

He is. And little still. I don't think he's filled out yet. He seems happier today, but still very skittish. He's eating well and playing in the bubble wall. I hope he settles down though.

Yeah, I'm really pleased with him. I was rather happy to find that the LFS had more than just VTs. They even had some giants, but they scare me. They look like they're angry all the time.

Okay. Got a fairly good picture of him today. Tail type guesses? It's still healing.

lil guy has a gd chunk of tail missing at bottom of tail

Can't see the rays clear enough even zooming in on pics to be sure but def looks hm line, maybe superdelta when fully healed

he does look young so fins will still grow even after damage heal

good find though and i hope he heals fast,

There's already new growth. It's little, but it's coming. And yeah, I think he's pretty young. He was all lethargic until I started feeding him once more a day than I feed the others. He seems happier now.
