Post by Storm on Thu Jun 11, 2009 12:15 pm

Hi Storm
It will ages and ages to remove all the tanins:( I've heard of some people boiling them for like 24hrs and they still release tanins after. It will certainly help though:)

No way of knowing without trying it really? It one of those unknown quantities, but you'll probably never get all the tanins out.

I've got a piece of driftwood in mine! I boiled it for a day and let it dry out then put it in my tank when I first put it in the water went murky but it then settled!! Hopefully it will work boiling it but I dont think you ever get all the woody stuff that makes the water murky out!!! (I know woody stuff is not the word but I dont know what the word is!!! :lol!: ) sunny
