Re: Tank Divider Question
It'll be another 6g or 9g. Just depends what is available when I get there on Thursday night. I'm hoping for a 9g or a wee bit larger.

Re: Tank Divider Question
6g will be to small for the corys. 10g is really the min for them but you can get away with 9. have you look on ebay and bits you can get 10-20g tanks for fairly cheap on there.

Re: Tank Divider Question
So the tank divider arrived today. Its now in the tank BUT I have a problem. I think it will be easily fixed but I need some suggestions.
The divider is supposed to be made secure on either side by a stainless steel clip. The clip is supposed to slide down the inside of the divider then clip over the edge of the tank. Sounds good in theory but my tanks are Clearseal tanks and both have these poxy mini ledges on either side. It means that its impossible for me to use the clips to secure the divider.
I'm buying another bag of gravel tomorrow in the hopes that that will possibly help a wee bit. Other than that, I'm hoping you guys can help.
On a plus note, Smurf seems to be enjoying the smaller space. He's such an oddjob.

Re: Tank Divider Question
some of my fish prefer smaller sections.
But I do not think gravel will hold it in place as it will only hold the bottom and the top will wobble.
IMO your best option would be jar the fish, completely empty and dry, seal the divider in and leave to dry etc.

Or instead of emptying it, what I did with one of mine is just silicone the top inch or so of divider that is out of the water

Re: Tank Divider Question
i would do what SR said a little blob on each side and then it should be fairly easy to get offf if you ever want to take it out.

Re: Tank Divider Question
what did you do? did you just put it in without the clips? it should be strong enough like it is the gravel and the bts on the side should be strong enough to hold it

Re: Tank Divider Question
I need to silicone my dividers in. I didn't want to spend over $30 on dividers so I made my own, but they aren't really steady and I had to 'prop' them up with suction cups.

Re: Tank Divider Question
Kiz...I found this wee suction things that are supposed to hold dividers in place. The divider is supposed to slot into the suction things. Very technical!
I put 1 on either side of the divider, at the top. Seems to hold it in place perfectly. No movement at all.
