BNs spawned

Post by kizno1 on Wed May 05, 2010 6:23 pm

My pair of BNs spawned last night theres about 50+ eggs but its hard to tell because they have layed eggs over others. The male is still guarding and fanning them fine and the females just hiding at the other side of the tank.
This is the male is a few weeks old hes about 4" now

cheers ill try and get some better pics when the hatch. They should hatch after 4 days but they wont leave the cave untill there yolk sacs are gone at about 10 days old then they should come out in a group with the dad looking for food. :]

Nore can i. Ive been wanting them to spawn since i got them. A few weeks ago i was thinking about setting up a spawning tank for them because i wasnt sure if they just didnt want to spawn with all the other fish around. Ill try and get some pick with my cam soon instead of just on my phone.

Its not gone to well the eggs have come of the side of the cave. hes still fanning them and i cant see and fungus so they will hopefully be ok. but hes nocked them out the caves a few times but luckily none of the fish have ate any.

Ive had to put them and the male in a 10G because he kept nocking the eggs out and the angels manged to eat a few. but every single one ive seen so far has hatched there must be atleast 60 of them and there spread over the whole tank because he kept movingthem when he was swimming about. Ive tryed to get some pics but i only have a 5mp camera and they are so tiny. This is what they look like atm

There tiny they have a massive yolk sac about 3mm wide and then they are about as thick as a pin and about 3mm long and they have tiny tiny little eyes and tail. Really wierd to watch them hatch. I havent found any that havent hatched they started about 11 last night ands they last one i saw hatched about 1 in the afternoon

Well, even if most of them have to go there at least you've been able to see the process through from beginning to end. What about eBay? Do your parents have an account that they could sell them from? Can you sell something like that on eBay even??
