Re: BNs spawned
I could sell them on ebay but then theres the problem of packaging them all and sending them. I mights see if swollow aquatics will give me a few £ for them because they sometimes buy fish.

Hope you get a fair deal for them. How about posting on gumtree or preloved? People advertise on there for all sorts

Re: BNs spawned
The main problem you face is,that it will take several months before they are at a size where lfs will take them and in the meantime you will have several more spawns.I have set up a 3ft tank just for my fry.As my bn's are in a community tank every couple of spawns i just leave them in there, otherwise i would be over run with them.As it is i'm probly down to about 200 fry atm.I have almost sold most of my 1st spawn, and are ready to get another 1 in there.

Re: BNs spawned
How old are they before they get to about 1"? the lfs take them about that size. Thats what i was planning on doing only haveing one spawn at a time in the 10G and the others will just have to fend for themself in the tank. It sounds harsh but like you said otherwise i will get over run. how long will it take before they spawn again? because i noticed hes alredy been clearing sand from in and around the same cave he spawned in last time he did this for a few days before the last time they spawned. thanks :]

Re: BNs spawned
Y our looking at them spawning roughly every 3 weeks. It will take 2 to 3 months before they are a sellable size.Do you have a spare tank for the fry?You will need to do daily wc's while they are small as they are poo machines and this is there most vulnerable stage.

Re: BNs spawned
Their yolk sac have almost gone now and they have all turned brown :[ so no albinos. i have the fry in a 10G atm with a air stone and a air filter untill they are big enough for a proper filter.

Re: BNs spawned
Lol. im going to try and get a albino long fin female for the male now so if its a pure longfin i will get 100% longfin albino fry from them which sell alot better around hear. Or if i cant get one im going to cross one of the female fry back with the dad to get 25% albino 25% brown and 50% brown but that have the albino gene like the fry i have atm.

Re: BNs spawned
The albino long fin are amazing have a look on google some of the males are really ice. TBH its fairly simple. the albino male is aa and the brownn female is AA captual is the doninant gene so when they have fry and each one passes a gene down the fry wil be Aa so they will show the brown because its doninant but they will have the albino gene. So if i then cross the fry Aa with the male aa i will get 50% aa (so albino) and 50 % Aa ( so brown but with the albino gene) does that make scence?

Re: BNs spawned
good good. we had to do it in science so it was fairly easy to understand. its the same with longfin and short fine. the long fin gene is dominat like the brown gene and the short fin gene is like the albino one.

Why? one generation shouldnt do anything to them.
