Hello Everyone
Hello everyone! I have been member of this forum for a while but have not dared to post anything.... I just wanted to let you know that I used all your excellent topics in creating the best house for my little betta and his friends (as this is the first time I own fish) and that I could not have made it without this great forum

Re: Hello Everyone
Thank you everyone! Unfortunately yesterday evening while feeding him I noticed his ventral fin looked rugged.... it looked like that when we first got him and I thought it was because of stress during transportation... but looking on pictures of pictures of him during the past few days I noticed it has been getting a bit worse... I suspect it to be fin rot :s. I have done a 30% water change (although his water stats where perfect), add melafix and aquarium salt that I had at hand and some almond leaf. I am heading to the shop tomorrow to buy some Myxazin. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I am so upset that I did not noticed it earlier

Re: Hello Everyone
Welcome! Your betta is gorgeous.
Sorry to hear he has a raggedy fin. Be a bit careful with the melafix as it can make bettas have a funny turn, i've nearly lost one and know people whi have lost their fish through using it. I wouldn't use the melafix with myxazin either, stick with one or the other.
Do you know what your water stats are? (ammonia, nirtite and nitrate). If the tank wasn't cycled fully then the water could affect his fins.
Hope he gets better x
