Maybe try rubbing him with Melafix and adding some Stress Coat to the water.

One of my ranchu's has something similar - bright red bulgy spots that look like squeezable pimples scratch

I just added eSHa 2000, but not sure if it's helping yet as only started treating this afternoon.

Mine has gone after treating with eSHa 2000. My ranchu doesn't have any spots on his head anymore!

This fish rallied round. Still had the spots but 48 hours ago he appeared lethargic. I checked the water, put a jug of clean in anyway, added stress coat, but he looked really bad last night and today has died. No marks on his body apart from the spots. i hate it when they die like this it makes me feel guilty x RIP fish sorry x
