Opinions/suggestions needed.

Its minor but I'm putting it out there now so I'm sorted when the time comes.

In August I go to NYC for a week. Most of my friends I wouldn't trust to look after my dogs (so they're going to my parent's) and I obviously can't send the betta boys there or I would!

When I travel home to see parents for a long weekend I normally leave on a Thursday evening and don't get back until a Sunday afternoon. The boys have always been grand.

When I go to NYC I'll be away from a Wed until the following Thur so a little over a week. How often would people need to pop in and feed them???? Will they survive if I can't get anyone to pop in, worst case scenario?

TBH I think they;d be fine without food for that period of time. Mine went for a week without food when I was in hospital and they weren't skinny when I got back.

For the week/2 weeks before you go i'd feed them up, maybe an extra pellet each day and more frozen/live foods to beef them up between pellet days, then do a nice water change the day before you go so the water is in good shape.

If you're really worried, maybe leave some pellets for someone to feed them mid-week, but don't leave enough so that they can be overfed to the extreme lol.
