heaters
Hi, hope everyone is well, could anyone recommend a 25w heater please. I have a marina compact just now which I think is broken, it just keeps heating and heating, my OT thinks the thermostat is broken.I have been looking on ebay and can't decide. I would like to get one that you can adjust the temperature, my marina one is set to 26 , but it never stays there, especially in this hot weather. Thankyou

Re: heaters
Hi i use 25 Watt heaters in both my 21 litre tanks i think they are great as you can adjust the heat very easily with the little twisty bit on the top.
This is what type i use i bought this off ebay.

Re: heaters
The elite ones are good and cheap i have a 25w and a 100w. at this time of year you done evan need a heater in guppy tanks. They live alot longer and have healthier fry at room temp because its colder the fry have longer to develop. When i had guppies i just had them at room temp and they did better than any ive ever had in tropical tanks.

I have an Elite heater, but apparently they are known for blowing up in the tank. Ive never had any problems though.

Hi, thanks for that , i have ordered the interpet one already, the heater was for the betta, it gets really cold here during the night even in this warm weather .
I only keep a few male guppys with some corys in my 60 litre so I don't need to worry about fry, I might get some females at a later date, I have males in my big tank as well. I have the heaters really low in the community tanks just now incase they get too hot when i am not there.

Yeah don't go for Elite, I just had to replace one that was about 6 months old as it nearly fried one pf my betta tanks... was set at 24 (it's always stayed at about 26/27 at this level) and the other night the tank was up to 34C

Re: heaters
Good plan. That's the second one that i've had busted... the first was giving off blue sparks into the tank, I was practically peeing my pants
Eheim I've found are excellent, cheap on ebay too. My large cichlid tank doesn't waver from 26C at all, I love it.

Blue sparks
i might do that soon then. My heaters havent been on in about 2 weeks now all my tanks have been at 30 evan at night. Ive had a fan on and both windows open and can cool my room down.
