My planted tank

The water is a bit cloudy since this is from right after I set up the tank. I think I did a pretty good job considering I couldn't see a thing when I was planting.

The lights are the same color now too, I bought the tank off a breeder and the lights weren't a match LOL. Wish I could take more updated picture but I was soo excited to upload it I forgot to turn off my camera afterward and can't find the dang charger.

That looks beautiful. When I see big tanks I want one! But, I just cant cope with the water changes! and I have got too many bird cages and no where to put one...whats going in it?

Thanks! Right now I have 1 male betta and added 3 baby panda corys to stir up the sand. I'm going to add more corys of course but didn't want to add too much of a bioload all at once.

The water changes aren't so bad, I siphon out a little water into a pot and feed it to the rose bushes. Then I pull the garden hose through my window and fill it up.

Very nice. I would add some caves or hiding places. I would also get a bit bit of wood at the front with moss around it. How big is the tank?

I'm a bit confused about what you meant about the wood. The moss has filled out nicely on it. Any ideas for natural cover? The tank is 37L. I also have a tank five times the size for when the corys grow out of the smaller tank

i hadnt evan noticed that bit of wood. I was meaning i would ad a nice big shaped bit in the centre with moss tied around it. Coconut caves or slate caves would work Ive made a topic n how to make both in this section ones been pinned and the other is 2 or 3 down.

Lol well you got your request, that tank sprung a leak last night so I had to move the corys to my 20 gallon tank, which does have a huge hollow stump in it. They seem happy when I can see them. The sand still hasn't settled since I added the wet sand substrate. When I noticed how murky it still was even after overnight I went ahead and turned on the overhang filter, hopefully that does the trick.

Thats not to good. You should be able to patch it up with aquarium silicone. The sand can take a few days to settle. I would switch the filter oof the little bits of and can damage the mpeller if theres lots of little bits getting through.

It was a crack in the bottom of the tank shaped like ( on one of the corners. The breeder I bought it from was nice a enough to replace it but my dresser has water damage now so I won't set it up again until that gets fixed

May I suggest that you get a section of clear plastic carpet runner to line the bottom of the tan?. This could afford protection in the future in case of mishaps! Or even black matting so you don't necessarily have to repair right away!

I cover the bottom of my tanks also. In the beginning when I kept other fish I noticed that even the wee dribbles that sometimes run after a water change or taking the lid off for feeding - it all eventually caused water damage.
