Post by liz2 on Wed Jun 30, 2010 5:31 pm

my oranda with one eye who has been poorly is at the moment in a tank half full of water. he has perked up considerably. i was going to put him a tank with a filter it has been running for a few days, but he is so happy I dont know whether to just leave him where he is?

I'd probs put him in whichever is bigger. Can you put the filter into the other tank if need be? even an airstone is better than nothing, in this hot weather oxygen availability will be lower, esp for oxygen-hoovering goldies lol

Can you not take some filter media out of another tank and put it in this new filter? Or some LFS's stock refrigerated bacterial supplements - only the refrigerated ones seem to work IMO. My mum used some in an emergency and it seemed reliable. That was one from MA.
