Puffers!

Post by silverrabbit on Wed Jun 30, 2010 7:14 pm

Thought i'd have an update of Gilbert the Palembang/Dragon puff. Recently moved him into a new divided tank with black gravel instead of sand as he isn't a burrower, and his colours are looking much nicer.

This is Olive, an Abei puff. So sweet and personable, puffs up at her own reflection though, silly sausage

This is my new puffer, a Borneensis, not very common to find so was very pleased to have him Very Happy will get better pics once he's settled. The red of his belly is amazing

Yeah Olive is a special one! Youhave to watch your fingers in the tank though, everything is food to her lol!

All freshwater... not up to going into brackish yet!

I want to sell off my cichlids and turn the 100gal into a Fahaka puffer tank Love until I can get another even bigger tank that is!

Only 1 fahaka lol! get to 18-20inches if I remember correctly. Have to get a 6x2x2 tank really

These will all stay FW thank goodness. The thing I really want is a red Congo puff, but that'll be a hard find and you don't see them much so might be a waste of money.

Yeah they are so beautiful. There is a variety of fahaka called a Pustulatus which is even more beautiful, but you never see them for sale and even when you do they are extremely expensive (£500+)

Yeah that's a pretty standard price, though my fave LFS where I got Olive and the Borneensis from has a teensy baby one (1inch, bless) for £12. But until I sell my fish I can't have one Rolling Eyes

I have a juvi red spot and a gold sev, some parrots (some i'm holding for my mum as her tank busted - Embarassed), a kirrin parrot, and a cichlid that had no name tag in MHA as well as some botia, a harlequin shark and some columbian tetras.

That would be well wierd to see it go from 1" to 18". The one in my lfs was 30cm and £20 so i guess thats a fairly good price if its £12 for a 1".I love sevs thatw what im hopefully getting one if i get the 126G

Cant wait i hope if win it ive always wanted a bigger tank but never had the money or one close enough. Im thinking about taking it apart and resilioning the tank because it doesnt look in to great condition and just to be on the safe side.
