Haha. That will probably be the best way to work out stocking.

Now I've gone and done it! Went and looked at killifish last evening! I like them too! Not the prices though!

Re: Mixing Cichlids?
Haha. What types do you like?
the other problem with some of them is they are annual fish so die after a year so some arnt really worth them money. some die after a year because where they come from theres a drought every year and the lakes dry out and kills them so they lay there eggs before the the drought then the eggs get dried out and then when the rain comes and the eggs get wet they hatch out and it all starts again.

Re: Mixing Cichlids?
I did catch a little bit about the annuals and probably would avoid those as I
couldn't handle the losses. As for which ones I'd have to look again as there were several that caught my eye! No hurry as I have to investigate more!

Yh they wierd this is they seem to be some of th most expensive aswell. The only reason i would get some is if i planned on breeding them. Ive had mine about 6months now and there still going well but mine arent annuals so they should have a little longer yet.

Re: Mixing Cichlids?
I have no idea how popular they are or how well they sell. I'd have to keep them alive before I could even consider breeding! Plus I need more space as it is! I have to talk my roommate into more shelves as we have a store of food for impending doom! Conspiracy theories and all!

Re: Mixing Cichlids?
There fairly easy to keep but most do best in a ph of about 6-7 and soft water but the water here is quite hard and they are doing fine in it. You need to set up a rack like mine for more tanks lol

And what, put knick knacks on it? LOL. I need tanks before I bother with shelves. Besides people give shelving away before tanks!

Re: Mixing Cichlids?
One of these days for sure! I'm getting frustrated trying to find cheap or free tanks so I'm relaxing my search a bit. Maybe it'll fall into my lap that way!
Plus I had my rent adjusted. Not in my favor of course!

That should be interesting! You need an underwater camera to take. Look forward to some pictures! A little spear fishing maybe? LOL!
