bad luck with my fancies!

Post by liz2 on Thu Jul 22, 2010 6:45 pm

I had 3 lovely fancies, and 2 small chocolate orandas. Anyway the one eyed oranda finally died after suffering white spot, fin rot and then some internal problem. I did like that little guy. I went to put the other oranda in with my fancies and had to take him out as he was bullied something rotten. So he is currently in a small filtered bowl. I need to get him in something bigger....So I had one red cap oranda, one fantail calico thing and one long finned goldfish. Yesterday they were all fine and then I realised the goldfish was missing. He was in a cave and was dead. His fins were shredded I dont know if the red cap had bullied him or what. Anyway I was gutted. I really want to get another big fancy to put in with the 2 left but dont know if the cap is a bully.... Evil or Very Mad

Sorry to hear :[ How big a tank are they in? Its best not to mix fancy and normal goldfish because the normally are alot more active and faster and normally bully the fancies.

Sorry you're having bad luck - I am too with the goldies and thinking it's just not worth the tank space keeping them when they insist on getting ill no matter how much water I change

No they were/are all long finned fancies. The goldfish fancy who died started off all black and then went orange. Its the flipping red cap oranda who is bullying.

Mine are in quite a big tank, dont know the real size. I dont change the water very often just do a partial change about every 10 days, I dont over feed them even though they beg and plead for food..... Poke
Different matter if my bettas need feeding.... Love
