Without a lid will it jump?
My betta is in a 3 gallon (~10L) with a lot of plants and im thinking that my lid is interfering with the light my plants get, so i wonder if i remove the lid will the betta jump? I've never seen mine do it, not when feed or anything. So low chances, high chances?
Thanks all!
Thanks all!

I wouldnt risk it. its quite likely to jump. To of my betta jumped a divider and there was only a 2"x 1" gap.

You could always wrap the top in cling film, but obviously put some holes in it for air for your betta, or just lower the water in the tank so your betta is in safe confinment of the tank walls, but you will lose precious swimming space for the betta.
really....try keep your lid on.

You would need to lower the water a long way ive heard of them jumping 4-5" and they could probably do more. And is it really worth loosing that much space when you can get condensation trays fairly cheaply or evan a bit or acrylic with some holes in it will do.

Yeah your a lot safer keeping the lid on, sods law the day you take if off your betta will jump and there is nothing worse than that moment of panic when you look in the tank and cant see your little guy if you have room for the lid then keep it, if not then you do need to drop the water level as kinzo rightly says

Good choice - I have had a few bettas jump and never recovered some of them (bad kitties) so I learned the hard way
