Nothing could have prepared me....
For the STENCH of worm cultures
Had been planning on trying a spawn, and to make sure I had everything ready I ordered the worm cultures while the spawning tank is finishing cycling (somehow even though I put a fully cycled bit of sponge around the sponge filter, it's just not processing nitrite yet
no ammonia though so yay at least i'm halfway done.
Anyway, OMG it stinks! Maybe it's because I have 3 but jeeezus does it pong
Can they live in a cupboard in an outbuilding (stays warm as it has tanks in it) because I can't hack the smell in here, and the cats are getting too curious

Yeah, but with holes poked in, the little leaflet said to poke some holes into the plastic lids for air... hope I didn't make too many?!
Maybe i added too much yeast... smelling rather cheesy but the worms are doing excellently. In 2 days they were up the sides like the little pic
But really stinky.
