Don't Try This At Home!
I went into an lfs that I got my c/t's from to pick up IAL and of course look around. Good looking c/t's and d/t's. Then I walked through the store and my eyes caught a chewed up Betta in with an Arowana. Needless to say it doesn't bode well for the Betta!
I'm thinking of returning Monday to see if they'll just let me have him. If its even still alive or if the Arowana has finished the meal! I'll pick up Meth Blue, treat him and house him in a 1gl. Betta Tank(was given to me)
until I can cycle my new used tank.
He reminds me of Ragga-muffin a successful rescue as he's missing a good portion of his fins.

Ow thats sad, hopefully they will let you have him as surely no one would buy him in the state he is or as you say the Arowana may finish him off.
Fingers crossed he'll be there for you to save...these lfs's have no common sense!!

Maybe it was intended as feed because it looked sort of old to me. It was fairly
large but its mostly a guess. I haven't one live that long!

I hate it when they do that. I knew someone who used to take her fry to a aquatic shop, she didnt believe me when I said they fed the large fish with them.
I spotted a blue vt the other day, sickly looking, but the chap who lets me take the sick ones home wasnt there. i went in the shop 2 days later and the fish was gone.

You can only hope someone took it home. Better than the other option!
