Fancy fish Ill? Please HELP!
My lovely red cap oranda (I think!) has suddenly developed white patches (not spots) on his fins and also some red streaking, and splits. I did a 25% water change yesterday which has perked him up but I dont know what meds to put in the water. Please dont ask me for water stats as I dont do it. It isnt white spot the other fish seems fine, could be stress? dont know any suggestions welcome x
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] you can just about make out the patches, and red streaks. they are quite bad but you have to look closely.

Red streaking is prob more obvious on him cos he's white, but it usually means ammonia burns or "blood streaked fins" a sign of internal bacteria (according to the interpet bottle).
Is it a big tank? maybe you need a bigger filter to cope with their insane pooping

Can they test your water for you? would be worth finding out because then you know the size of water changes to be doing. I think big water changes would be better if it is an ammonia prob
