Saved A Betta From Bowling Today!

I went to a lfs to look at the new arrivals(didn't have money)today. There was a gentleman looking at the Bettas and I stroke up a conversation. He had read their ad for Bettas saying how you could keep them in a small bowl.

I said "yeah and you could live in a closet too, but how would you like it? Then I explained a few of the requirements including cycling. He then went over and looked at a 2.5 Aqueon tank for $50.(35lbs.) and I told him it would work, but that it was the bare minimum for the long term. He left empty handed!

I did tell him they are very delightful to keep if done correctly! I'm not a complete ogre!

Do you think I was correct or should I have just kept my mouth shut? Like to add that I did tell him I wasn't informed in the beginning and that I lost two of them!

there is bowls and bowls though. When I left work (stress related) they knew I loved bettas so they got me this betta vase!! looks like a giant wine goblet. It is currently sitting waiting to be sold at a car boot sale. A couple of my old bettas love smaller spaces, less room to patrol....
