Pair in love!

Post by Nataliey on Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:37 pm

When i bought the pair of SD's on Sunday i was planning on putting the male in the divided with the other 5 boys and the female in the sorority...

Well as it turns out iv decided to put them both in the 'empty' clear seal tank, divided of course...AND this morning when i go to feed them he's built a bubble nest and she keeps coming over to look at it through the divide with gorgeous yellow breeding lines.

Here's a few photos of the pair

Im very unsure about breeding them at the mo as il be back to work at the beginning of November, in my job its a busy time (im a cashier so lots of extra time!) so dont want to be at work worrying about my fry, so to speak. Not got anyone else to look after them either.

So maybe after christmas when im not so busy it could be possibility... Smile

lol Why not get a big 150G tank for them all lol. Then think how many tanks you will need for all the males your going to end up with hundreds of tanks haha. They are worth breeding though they look great.

In the garage like me thats the only spot i can find for mine lol. You can always squeeze in more tanks Just build a rack and stack them up haha.

Its only to shut be up because ive bugged her about it for agers lol.
Im not sure i would fancy a 150G in the loft unless you want a big hole in the floor and alot of water every where. lol the fish would love eating them though.

If a loft can hold a header tank, I'm sure it can hold a fish tank. It holds the roof up, doesn't it?

But back to the orginal thread guys...

Felt a little sad last night as his bubble nest had gone BUT this morning when i woke up and looked in he's started another one under a different leaf looks bigger, was nice to watch him at his work! What is the typical behavour of a male liking a female? as he keeps adding bubbles to the nest then swimming to the divide looking for the female then swimming back adding more bubbles. He's not been flaring at her this morning but he's been spreading out his fins and tail when he's looking for her.

She's still got the big yellow breeding bars on her body she swims backwards and forwards looking for him and keeps kinda bowing down to him. Does this seem like typical behavour? confused
