Sounds good. The heater needs to be about 50W and the filter you want to be doing 480-600lph to give you a 8-10x turnover. Whats happening to the bettas in the 9G?

Well, Chai died in my 6G & I haven't replaced him. Tex wasn't looking 100% on Thursday night before I went to my parents for the weekend. He didn't look like there was anything specifically wrong with him but he didn't look right either if that makes sense? If he's still alive (fingers crossed) tomorrow then I'll be moving Smurf or Kaito in with him. The remaining betta will be going into a 3G tank I found in my folk's garage. It will be a juggling game.

Thats a shame. Yeah i get what you mean and doesnt sound to good. Sounds good though and sure dwarf puffers will do great in that tank. You probably already know but dwarf puffers normally wont touch pellets or flakes and need feeding frozen or live foods. They love bloodworm and will only need about 3-4 a day so a pack of frozen bloodworm will last ages.

I've wanted these DP's forever Kiz. I bent Lou's ear about them when I first started thinking about getting some and she put me onto a really good DP information page. I've researched and researched again about them. Smile

Good youve done alot of research then. If you go for 4 in the 15G i think it would be best to go for 1 male 3 females because males can be a little territorial with each other. And the other thing i would do before you get any is get a tank or evan storage box with a small filter and get a load of pest snails from your LFS and breed them in there so you always have some for the DPs to keep there teeth ground down.

Ma has a problem with snails in her big tank. She keeps taking them out and getting rid of them all only to discover 1 sneaky bugger stayed well hid. Now that DPs are on the horizon for me she's going to continue to empty the tank but always keep 1 or 2 around for them.

Thats good then. I think the rule for size of snails is dont feed them a snail thats any bigger than there eyes or they will just pick at it and wont eat the hole thing. Have you hd a look on youtube theres some great videos of them feeding.

I have looked at them feeding on YouTube. They're so cute but they're nasty wee devils! Wink

Some of the bigger ones are amazing looking but I think its right that I start with the wee ones. Smile

The one thing that confuses me is that some sites say they need brackish water, others say no or don't mention it at all.

:]

Dwarf puffers/Carinotetraodon travancoricus are completely freshwater. Brackish water will do more harm than good.

Haha. It will probably change again but the main fish havent changed in a while its just sorting out a few cats around them. and i might not be able to find pimelodus ornatus or jaguar catfish so might have to go for something else. Even if i do find them ill have to pay for it the ornatus go for about £20-30 and the jaguars £30-60 Shocked
