What kind betta your LFT sell?

I was wondering what kind of betta your local fish store has beside the usual veil tails and the round tails??
Here in Sacramento and in the bay area, you wont be able to find hmplakat and good colors hm. Females hm and hmplakat are impossible to find, only from the internet or members from certains betta club.

I can get male VTs, DT, PK and SD. But most of them will just be standard blues and reds And VT, HM, CT, SD, DT females but again most are just standard colours.

I can get the same as Kizno but i can also get CT males at my lfs, with all colours ranging from white/multi, yellows, blues, reds, blacks.

In Singapore there's only half-moons (I'm not sure about that, but at least they all look like my betta) and some veil tails!! And I can't find any females!! it's so sad... Sad

Its pretty much the same here in Seattle. All you can do is inquire about at the independent lfs. The HM with decent or better colors are rare, but I've seen a few.
Try to find a lfs that imports their Bettas. Good luck!

vt, dt, deltas, hms, cts and ugly poorly bred half giants in males. in females its mostly vts with some cts. then there is your pk males throw in as female for about 50% of the females avaiable.

Anywhere I go over here is the same story, red or blue VT's. I felt like I won the lotto when I found Chai a few months ago, a Cambodian!

At the moment I would prefer to wait for room to become available rather than buy another tank. I want to change the 9g hex to a 10g rectangle and get some dwarf puffers in there. I hate the hex with a passion.

Although I have one housed in a hex I'm not thrilled with it. When money permits I'll divide my 10gl. and store the hex. IMO I think the fish would be happier in a rectangle as it gives them more swim space for the volume. Puffers are cool!

Bit harsh whats the hex tank ever done to you Haha. I used to have one and if im honest i was more than happy to see it go. There a pain to stock with because they limit the swimming space and the surface area.
