I agree i have a hex tank and its a pain in the butt, i really hate for the simple reasons i cant take decent photos of my fish!

Here in Eastern USA (my little area, anyway) most places sell ONLY VT. The one store we have also sells CTs and Deltas (mine was a RT Delta) though as he gets older he's looking more like a super delta O.o

Anyway, that's about it. No HMs or anything like that unless there's a private breeder around here somewhere.

I think hexes are pretty but I personally never had one. ^_^ Complaints are understandable.

There not terrible but rectangles are alot easier to clean, stock and look at fish. Hexes are still better than biorbs my mum has one that she wont let me get rid of we have a load of breeding apple snails and 2 guppies i hate it and that really is hard to take pics of fish.

Oh the Orbs are the WORST! They're ridiculous to clean, you can't see the fish most of the time. I hate, hate, hate them!

Same it would have gone a long time ago is my mum would let me. The filters are c*** aswell i ended up ripping it out putting sand in and using a small internal filter instead.

All VTs, but a reasonable range of colours - the usual blues and reds, but also when I was there yesterday there were Dalmatians, cellophanes and some dark purply blues (almost black) with red fins.

On occasion they will have a single SD but they're usually so chewed up from jumping the dividers in the rubbish betta barracks that you couldn't tell one tail type from another. Females are always plentiful and in good health, but not a vast range of colours.

KJ, we don't have any female bettas over here. I've considered doing a sorority in the past but stocking it would be quite costly because I would have to buy online from breeders etc. I've only ever seen 1 female and my mam took her home because she was in a tank being tortured by a male VT.

My fave LFS has a good range of males - mainly VT, HM, CT, HMPK, Giant, Rosetail. Never seen a DT in the shops here. They only seem to have bog standard pk females in, although a local breeder did give them some HM females.

Good range of colours too, even the VT's are pinks, cambos, MG etc. Had a few black HMs a while back

i guess i'm lucky? my lps sells a varity. mostly VTs and CTs, but i've seen the occasonal HM(there's one i wanna try to get there now! cute little red fella), but those are rare. got my PK female from there (she was so big, i thought she was a he! lol). i was VERY lucky, to get my white HMPK from there. lucky find, it was fate, but.... wasn't meant to last long at all....

At the LFS in my area they started selling a variety of males over the last several months. I can buy VT, CT , HM , Delta , HM King (Petco Giants), regular or non HM Kings, Plakat and HMPK, DT, HMDT. They only sell VT and CT females. Hex=4, Rectangular=16

The only females I've seen here are Vt's and CT's. Doesn't make for a versatile
sorority does it now? I'm disappointed to say the least.......! Maybe in time.

They had a gorgeous Blue Marble Halfmoon last year that I wanted but didn't have the money at the time. I went back the next week when I had money but it was gone. This year I was pleasantly surprised with Blue Marbles and Green Marbles from my Blue Butterfly spawn. How old are they? I wish I wasn't so broke at this time(or anytime) or I'd
look to order a couple. Its the shipping that throws me the most. I'll certainly
be in contact when I have the funds and see whats available.

I've seen several on Aquabid from your stock and do like what I see!

If you are interested in the Marbles or Butterflies I have about 60 that are a little over 2 months from the same parents as those two. They wont be ready for 2 months or so anyway. I also give a discount to forum members.

Fantastic! I'll see what I can put together by then. I always try to buy myself
a xmas present, or two and maybe three! LOL!

I do need to start researching the genes so I understand it all. Are there any links you recommend for free reading?
